This Privacy Policy explains how the GuessTheTier team ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use GuessTheTier.com (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your chosen username, email address, and a securely hashed version of your password.

Gameplay data. We store your guesses, scores, accuracy, streaks, and leaderboard placement so we can show your progress and rankings.

Submitted clips. If you submit a clip, we collect the video or video link, the Minecraft username associated with it, and the related MCTiers ranking used for verification.

2. How We Use Your Information

To operate the game: scoring, leaderboards, statistics, and guess history
To verify submitted clips against MCTiers rankings
To maintain account security and prevent cheating or abuse
To improve the Service through aggregate usage analytics
To display advertising (see Section 4)

3. Third-Party Services

We use the MCTiers API to verify player tiers for submitted clips. Our community runs on Discord; if you join our server or use our Discord bot, Discord's own privacy policy applies to your activity there.

4. Advertising and Cookies

We display ads to keep the Service free. Third-party ad networks (such as Google AdSense) may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads, including personalized ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.

We also use cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the Service may stop working.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers needed to run the Service (such as hosting and ad networks), when required by law, or to protect the Service against abuse.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us on Discord (see Section 9), and we will remove it within a reasonable period.

7. Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the new policy.
