About GuessTheTier
A guessing game built on real competitive Minecraft
What this site is
GuessTheTier is a game about reading skill. You watch a short Minecraft PvP clip, and you guess the official tier of the player in it. Every clip features a player who has actually been tiertested, so every round has a single true answer pulled from MCTiers, the public tiertesting database. Guess the exact tier for full points, land one tier away for half, and climb the leaderboards, or race your friends live in party rooms where everyone judges the same clip at the same time. If tiers are new to you, start with our guide on what Minecraft PvP tiers are.
Where the clips come from
Clips are submitted by the community through the submit page. Before a clip can appear in the game, two things happen. First, the player shown in the clip is verified against MCTiers automatically, so untested players never enter the pool. Second, a human reviewer watches the clip and rejects anything that spoils the answer, shows the wrong style, or is too poor quality to judge. Only clips that pass both checks become rounds.
How scoring stays fair
All scoring happens on our servers. The answer to a round never reaches your browser until after your guess is locked in, rounds cannot be replayed for extra points, and the leaderboards only count signed in play. Pro membership removes ads and adds convenience features, but it never touches gameplay or scoring: the leaderboards are the same competition for everyone.
